Michael McCoy and Peter Stathis’ Horizon LED lamp honored by Interiors & Sources Readers’ Choice Awards

The Horizon task lamp, designed by Michael McCoy and Peter Stathis, has been honored by the Interiors & Sources Readers’ Choice: Best Products of 2011 Awards.

Now in their third year, the Interiors & Sources Readers’ Choice Awards are judged and selected by readers of the magazine. The Awards encompass multiple categories, including flooring, seating, lighting, wall covering and more. According to Interiors & Sources, the voting was close this year in several categories—attesting to the high caliber of the products considered.

A visually striking fusion of form and function, Horizon is the first LED task light to utilize Thin Film LED Technology. Horizon overcomes the weaknesses of conventional LED lights by offering brilliant 3000K illumination and excellent light distribution in a slender profile. With a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80, Horizon uses a number of high-intensity micro LEDs that surround several layers of polycarbonate and optical films to create an ultra-wide footprint of warm, glare-free light that casts only one shadow on the work surface. Its built-in dimmer control offers seven settings for dimmability, providing both energy savings and customizable levels of illumination. The Interiors & Sources Readers’ Choice: Best Products of 2011 Award adds to Horizon’s long list of accolades, which includes the 2011 Red Dot Design Award, the 2011 Spark:Pro Award at the Spark level, the 2011 Green GOOD DESIGN Award, among many others.
